Personal Information You Provide: - Account Registration: When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, gender, date of birth, and location (e.g., state/city). - Profile Details & Religious Information: Information to help find a match, including your sect, religious practices, marital status, education, profession, and a profile photo. Please note that your religious practices and preferences are considered sensitive personal data and are processed solely for the purpose of matchmaking in accordance with applicable laws. - Wali (Guardian) Information: If you are a female user, we collect the contact information (name, phone number) of your Wali to facilitate their oversight. Walis also create accounts providing their basic details.
B. Automatically Collected Information: - Device & Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App, your device type, operating system, IP address, and unique device identifiers (e.g., Apple IDFA) to improve app stability and security. - Interactions: We securely store data related to matches, profile views, and messages sent within the app to facilitate the matchmaking process.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information strictly to provide and improve the Zawjly service: - To create and manage your account. - To match you with compatible profiles based on your preferences. - To enable the Wali system, allowing guardians to review matches and supervise communication. - To process subscriptions and premium features (via Apple App Store). - To monitor for and prevent fraudulent activity, inappropriate behavior, or attempts to bypass the Wali system.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data based on one or more of the following legal grounds: - User Consent: When you explicitly provide sensitive personal data (e.g., religious preferences) or consent to specific features. - Contractual Necessity: To provide the Zawjly matchmaking and Wali services you requested by agreeing to our Terms of Service. - Legitimate Interests: For app security, fraud prevention, abuse mitigation, and service improvement. - Legal Obligations: When required to comply with applicable laws.

We may share your information only in the following circumstances: - With Other Users: Your public profile details (e.g., photo, age, sect, profession) are visible to potential matches. Your contact information (email/phone) is kept private. - With Your Wali: For female users, your appointed Wali will have access to see your matches and monitor your interactions to ensure they align with Islamic principles. Conversations which enter supervised stages may become visible to an approved and linked Wali account associated with the female participant, ensuring transparency regarding the supervision model. - Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services for database hosting, authentication, payment processing, and analytics. These services only access data necessary to perform their functions. - Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our users.
5. International Data Transfers
Your personal data may be stored or processed on servers located outside your country of residence through our trusted global service providers (such as Google Firebase and RevenueCat). By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your data to these secure international facilities.
